Behind the Lens

My photography is evocative of my desire for knowledge and connection and reveals hidden qualities of my character. I am typically drawn to people and objects in their environments. Interested in the relationship with each other, I love to see and envision the dynamic between the two and the effect it has on the world around them.

I found the passion for photography in my late teens. I learned from my family and professional photographers I worked with in the photofinishing industry, when there was a photofinishing industry. As long as I can remember, my Father, Sister and Uncle always had a camera within arm’s reach. I have, over the years, taken course work as the opportunity presents; most recently, a street photography course through Emily Carr University. If one of my photographs touches you, then I have succeeded in sharing my love for the medium.

I share Walker Evan’s passion when he says, “Whether he is an artist or not, the photographer is a joyous sensualist, for the simple reason that the eye traffics in feelings, not in thoughts.”
